CreditScoreQuiz.org is an informational tool developed by the Consumer Federation of America (CFA) and VantageScore Solutions.
CFA (www.consumerfed.org) is a nonprofit association of more than 250 nonprofit consumer groups that was established in 1968 to advance the consumer interest through research, education, and advocacy.
VantageScore Solutions, LLC (www.VantageScore.com) is the independently managed company that owns the intellectual property rights to the VantageScore credit scoring models, including the recently announced VantageScore 3.0 model which provides up to 25 percent predictive improvement over earlier models and has the ability to formulate a score for 30–35 million previously unscoreable consumers. Initially developed by America’s three national credit reporting companies (CRCs) — Equifax, Experian and TransUnion — VantageScore Solutions’ highly predictive models use an innovative, patented and patent-pending scoring methodology that provides lenders and consumers with more consistent credit scores across all three national credit reporting companies.
The two organizations developed this credit score quiz and website to increase consumer knowledge about credit scores and how to improve them. Since 2011, we have asked the Opinion Research Corporation to administer this quiz annually to a representative sample of 1,000 adult Americans. The quiz results indicate that many Americans could improve their credit score knowledge and ability to manage their scores. We encourage individuals to take this quiz; we also urge teachers and other educators to utilize it in their financial education programs.
